Apple Tile | 8" | monkscloth - $10.00 | linen -
$13.00
This will be the topic of a mini class at camp this fall. It looks
great with the beaded border and the apple hanger ($6.50)
too!

Spring Fever | 23" x 35" | monkscloth - $39.00 |
linen - $53.00
Dip dyes are my least favourite dyed wool to work with, but they
worked well for these pansies!

Violets | 10" x 24" | monkscloth - $15.00 | linen
- $21.00
Just a lovely little piece, here done with 2 different flower
swatches for interest.

Paradise Treat | 13" x 16" | monkscloth - $21.00 |
linen - $27.00
A lovely small shaded piece...nice for a footstool or framed
picture.

Berry Branch | 11" x 20" | monkscloth - $15.00 |
verel - $21.00
A great beginning hooker project...or just to use up leftovers!
Berries can be any colour you wish.

Iris Tile | 6" x 8" | monkscloth - $10.00 | linen
- $13.00
Here are two beautifully shaded iris tiles in matching
frames.
Irises come in many colours: Why not try using two swatches? One
for the top, and a different swatch for the bottom petals. Skip the
background if you have it printed on verel, a synthetic
fabric.

Dudley's Pride | 40" x 52" | monkscloth - $66.00 |
linen - $92.00
This photo shows an early Dudley, when the pattern came with
scrolls on the sides. Since several people asked to have this
printed without the scrolls, I decided to permanently remove them.
It's still a large pattern, with beautiful floral detail to
intrigue you.

Appliques | 27" x 31" | monkscloth - $34.00 |
linen - $47.00
Ann Tuttle had a lot of leftover crewel odds and ends, so we used
them up in Appliques. This pattern looks both crewel like and
modern at the same time.

Sweet Surrender | 14" x 16" | monkscloth - $17.00
| linen - $23.00
This can also be hooked on verel, eliminating the need for a hooked
background.

Romance | 29" x 29" | monkscloth - $58.00 | linen
- $81.00
Dainty small flowers, interspersed with roses...scrolls and flowers
in the corners.

Pansies | 14" x 14" | monkscloth - $13.00 | linen
- $17.00
Pansies are a colourful and easy way to learn shading...this size
pattern is versatile, as it can be a table mat, bag, wall hanging
or even a chair seat.

Irises | 16" x 21" | monkscloth - $21.00 |
$27.00
If you wish to not hook the background, but merely do the shaded
detail, then order this on verel, a synthetic backing.

Sarah | 8" x 16" | monkscloth - $13.00 | linen -
$17.00
This lovely little footstool sized piece can be made with leftover
swatches.

Full Basket | 27" x 40" | monkscloth -
$53.00 | linen - $74.00
This is a very beautiful 1/2 round design that was included when I
bought New Earth Designs. This one that I hooked with
Sandy Cheverie as a teacher, hangs in my studio and has inspired
quite a few students to learn to shade! I love the warm,
antiquey swatches that I chose from my stash, and how
they work with the hodge podge of "blacks" in the background.
It's a big basket!
Nancy Blood was the teacher for the richly coloured version below,
hooked by Joann Durst.

Fall Harvest | 18" x 31" | monkscloth - $29.00 |
linen - $41.00
A good pattern to learn shading on; it's not too big and can be
very colourful. I like the muted tones and the
attractive shading in the top "fall harvest." The bottom one
is a #5 cut, and looks great in my kitchen.

Crewel Bell Pull
7" x 47"
monkscloth - $34.00
linen - $47.00
This would be a good way to learn to hook crewel motifs!

Floral Bell Pull
8" x 48"
monkscloth - $34.00
linen - $47.00
A good way to learn shading on basic flowers. I used
pinks and purples on mine with a purply black Crow Feathers
background.

Pear Tile | monkscloth - $10.00 | linen -
$13.00
Chizuko Hayami, a rug hooking teacher from Japan, made a wonderful
tote bag from my "Pear Tile." She has been twice to visit me
with her students! See also her "Sandy's Village."

Fruit Bellpull
8" x 48"
monkscloth - $34.00
linen - $47.00
Not your average fruit bellpull; this one will challenge you with
mangoes, oranges, and a pineapple...as well as the usual
strawberries, grapes, pears, etc.

Anne | 30" x 49" | monkscloth - $61.00 | linen -
$85.00
A classic crewel type design with an opposite repeat. The
exotic birds are fun to colour plan. This one was hooked
by Ann Tuttle.

Neptune's Kingdom | 16" x 24" | monkscloth -
$23.00 | linen - $32.00
Another fun piece for the people who live on the coast, or merely
for those who own fish tanks...
Lots of beautiful colour, and great water motion in this "Neptune's
Kingdom" to the right, hooked by Peg Henderson.

Shore Treasures | 24" x 36" | monkscloth - $39.00
| linen - $53.00
Sand and water make a dual background for the driftwood and
shells! A good rug for the coastal hookers!

Summer Garden | 18" round | monkscloth - $21.00 |
linen - $27.00
Dahlias, zinnias and tiny flowers abound. Transitional
swatches, or cross swatching, will make this piece a
standout!

Susan | 28" x 41" | monkscloth - $53.00 | linen -
$74.00
Here's a traditional shaded floral with simple scroll design.
This attractive one was hooked by Connie Pratt.

Sweetheart | 8" x 12" | monkscloth - $13.00 |
linen - $17.00
If you enjoy 3 cut, you might like to make this as a gift. . .it's
so tiny it doesn't take much wool! Here it is in a hoop, but
it could also be part of a purse, or even a pillow.
The "Sweetheart" on the right was hooked by Connie Pratt on verel,
a synthetic backing – no background to do.
