Sultan's Palace | 35" x 54½" | monkscloth - $53.00 | linen - $74.00
An unusual large stained glass rug, featuring geometric motifs and spectacular iris flowers.

Bargello | 24" x 35" | monkscloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
This nice bright geometric looks like ice cream cones (see the top right rendition) or a group of trees (as in the top left version)!
The bottom one is the same Bargello design as the others...but someone really planned this version in a different style. It doesn't even look like the same design, which is what geometrics are all about. I wonder how many other ways this could be approached?

Geometric Star | 24" x 36" | monks cloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
I always found this design intriguing, even before I owned the rights to it. The colours I chose were worked up with crayons first, before taking a class from my buddy, Jessie Turbayne. When I got bored with one colour, I just moved to another. No background! I'd like to do it over again, in mauves and blues this time.
A totally different look applies to the leftmost Geometric Star, done by June Mikoryak. That's the fun of geometrics!

Christmas Glass | 18" x 34" | monks cloth - $31.00 | linen - $43.00
This wintery pattern can stay out weeks after the holidays! Spot dyes will make it come alive. You can use leaded glass outlining, or cloissine gold. This pattern also comes in half the size for a table mat.

Classic Glass | 14" x 24" | monkscloth - $21.00 | linen - $29.00
Charming as rug, or a table mat. This is perfect for those beautifully mottled stained glass colours. We've hooked here in class in many different colours, all work wonderfully well. Try "sand pebbles" for an opalescent background.

Stained Glass Half-Round | 22" x 42" | monks cloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
Always a nice beginners project...they can outline and fill using spot dyes of their choice...you can't go wrong!

Calico | 24" x 36" | monkscloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
This is my favourite pattern for using up students' leftovers when all they have are what I call "crumbs." It works perfectly with whatever you have on hand. Barbara Rossman is finishing one now in class using up her antiquey reds, and blues over a Potato Skins background. Fabulous!
Carolyn Folsom obviously had a lot of red leftovers to use up for this nice "Calico" that she did (at the bottom right).
I just love how Flora Dressler did her Calico rug (it's the one at the top left) with her creative saying in the border; and the flowers done in sections! This was started when I taught a leftover wool usage class in Milwaukee.

Compass | 35" x 35" | monkscloth - $31.00 | linen - $43.00
This was done entirely using my yardages (except for the antique black). I used a #7 cut and hooked loosely so it would lay flat!
I really enjoyed laying out the colours and watching it develop.
