The top one was hooked by Maureen Rugar, and the one to the right by Maryjane Costello.
CATastrophe | 20" x 35" | monkscloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
Does this look like your pets? People love this whimsical design of a panicked cat and a dog out for a little fun.
You can make the dog into your dog by changing his colours, or even altering your purchased pattern with a marker. Because my animals were nearly neutral, I was able to show excitement by using Old Red for a background and Beet Greens in the border.

Rooster Rug | 24" x 36" | monks cloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
A great way to use up bright colours in the tail feathers!

Jeanne's version is on the left, and Freda's wonderfully antique interpretation is on the right.
Freda's Sheep | 24" x 36" | monkscloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
Freda MacDonnell from Canada said "Jeanne, draw me a sheep pattern!" So I did. The background is "potato skins." The sheep is a mixture of slightly felted off-white and beige as-is textures (hooked slightly bumpy) to make a more intriguing sheep.

The left one is a nicely muted version by student Robin Sachs.
Crow with Berries | 16" x 20" | monkscloth - $24.00 | linen - $33.00
This has been one of my most popular patterns for years now; it's just the right size for a beginner to complete easily.

The top 'Insomnia' was done by Joan Wray, while the bottom one is Lorraine's version.
Lorraine's Insomnia | 24" x 36" | monkscloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
Lorraine Joseph requested a sheep design and this was the result. I love the way she hooked it. Wouldn't it be nice in a guest room or child's room?

Alfred | 15" x 20" | monkscloth - $19.00 | linen - $ 25.00
Before the loyal and helpful Mr Zimm...there was Alfred, the Himalayan I got from a shelter. He was famous for talking to me on the phone when I was away teaching. Tufts of his hair are pulled into the ear areas on this rug.
Commemorate your best long haired buddy, be it a himi, a persian or otherwise, in this simple memorial. There is ample room to add personal touches, such as a name, in the background.

Canadian Geese | 36" x 48" | monkscloth - $53.00 | linen - $74.00
Looks great framed and on the wall. The natural looking setting is a good complement to the birds.

Chipmunk | 16" x 20" | monkscloth - $19.00 | linen - $25.00
Minerva Cabanas, an excellent (and fast!) hooker from Kansas City area, started this with me at a workshop at Marilyn Schmidt's a few years ago. He is bright eyed and bushy tailed!

Country Cow | 36½" x 42" | monkscloth - $41.00 | linen - $56.00
You have to really like cows to hook this big girl...but it does make a nice rug with the clover and bell border!

Cow Brick Cover | monkscloth - $11.50 | linen - $16.00
Shown before assembly, this makes a great doorstop for a country kitchen!

Little Red Hen | 14" x 14" | monkscloth - $11.50 | linen - $16.00
Done very nicely with textures, by Joyce Topping. I bet it was fun to do!

Loon | 24" x 36" | monkscloth - $35.00 | linen - $48.00
This is very dramatic with the swirling water around the loon.

Momcat | 25" x 30" | monkscloth - $27.00 | linen - $37.00
Anyone who has ever had a content mother cat with a litter of playful babies will enjoy this rug. Pawprints are in each corner, and the zigzag border will use up odds and ends!

Pheasant in Cornstalks | 27" x 43" | monkscloth - $48.00 | linen - $67.00
Dried cornstalks and a vivid pheasant make a great wall hanging.

Pig in Corn | 36" x 48" | monkscloth - $53.00 | linen - $74.00
Hildegard Edling has since finished this piece. I like the way the corn kernels are raised in the border!

Rooster | 12" x 15" | monkscloth - $16.00 | linen - $21.00
Marlys Brooks came to a mini class I did at Rock River in 03...this detailed rooster was the subject matter. She did great!

Stencil Cat | 14" x 14" | monkscloth - $11.50 | linen - $16.00
Here you see three stencil cats, together in a rug...I had a mini class to do and thought it might be fun to do them this way instead of separate. You might recognize Mr Zimmerman, if you've seen him at the bottom of "About New Earth Designs"...I referred to it as the "Prim Zimm".

The Cat Family | Mr. and Mrs. are 26" tall and Baby cat is 17" tall
monkscloth - $21.00 and $19.00 | linen - $29.00 and $25.00
Let your creativity soar in these 3 "dummy boards"...I added lace trim, boas, buttons, and sequins to mine.
