Since then, I’ve taught at between 9-14 camps and workshops all over the U.S. and Canada each year. I’ve met many wonderful people in many different places. Now that I’ve retired early from nursing; teaching/dyeing/colour planning/printing and designing patterns is my full time job. And I still love it 36 years later! Students tell me my teaching specialties are colour planning, especially for antique looking primitives and orientals. I also love pictorials and folk art. The students who come to me are welcome to hook whatever they feel “speaks” to them and we work together on the colour planning. Classes are held here in my studio. . .when I’m not out teaching! For shoppers, the studio is open by advance appointment.
...and Jeanne Benjamin
In 1971, I began rug hooking on my own, but quickly decided I needed help! I took shading lessons from Bunny MacKay until I married and moved out of state. Designs of all types intrigued me and I hooked as many as I could, during 5 years of intensive hooking dyeing, and researching. Bunny gave me one dyeing lesson before I moved and I was off. But alas, there was no teacher near me so I took the McGown teachers training course just so I could learn more; I had no intention of teaching.o my dismay, people began asking me for lessons, so I learned as I taught! I loved it! When we moved back to MA, I began teaching and also dyeing wools for Lincoln House and for mail order. In 1981 I went to my first rug camp and didn’t want to come home; I had so much fun. I went each year and to my surprise, was asked to teach at ATHA 1 camp in 1989.

The over 300 patterns in the catalogue are of all different design types, from gorgeous orientals to pictorials, folk art and primitive. Most of the designs are silk screened for clear dark lines, and they are printed on the backing as straight as possible, with serged edges. Patterns are available on your choice of backing, either monks cloth, rug warp, or linen. If a photo is available, the pattern will come to you with it! All patterns are of course copyrighted and may not be duplicated in any form without written permission. Please e-mail me for orders, and I’ll ship your order with an invoice, with shipping included, and MA state tax where applicable.
